Jazz Styles

Jazz is a reflection of the history of this music from the 1890s to modern day. Many of the great classical composers have drawn on jazz for inspiration. Jazz can be divided into many periods and styles, e.g. :-

Vocalists who began their early careers as band singers include Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Ella Fitzgerald with the Chick Webb Orchestra, and Anita O'Day with the Gene Krupa Orchestra. World War II wrought economic demise on the big bands, creating new opportunities for vocalists as leaders.
